NSF-funded investigation of early pastoralism in Mongolia

We’ve just returned from a busy and extremely exciting 2025 field season in Mongolia, where we are diving deeper into the archaeological record of frozen mountain ice and dry caves to understand the timing of animal domestication and the shift to early herding life in the eastern steppes of Eurasia.
